Job description

Assure product designs provide necessary safety & efficacy to deliver the innovative healthy product to the customers.

Validation of product development activities to ensure and incorporate robustness in the formulations with clean labelling and cost-effectiveness.

 Conduct scientific assessment and review scientific substantiation to support NPD.

Interact with all scientific sectors (academia, health care professionals, government, and industry peers) to develop and maintain relationships.

Job Role

  • Provide leadership to the NPD core team & develop products with budget as well as R&D plans and activities.
  • Lead the R & D team to design the Paper Formula, Develop Prototype, Scale up, Shelf-Life Study, Sensory, Costing & Commercialize for various Clean & Plant based Products, Dosage format & any new format e.g. (Powder/Solid Dose/Liquids/Other).
  • Understanding of analytical techniques, their principles, and deciphering the results to product characteristics is a must.
  • Should have good knowledge about raw material characteristics, handling, and manufacturing technologies of nutritional & wellness product.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory to prepare quality standards, specifications as per legal and consumer requirements as well as product dossiers to meet regulatory compliance.
  • Work with manufacturing and QA to ensure that formulas and processes are scaled up to optimum production levels (assist in education and training of production/others).
  • Providing project status documents that clearly report progress, budgets, issues, and risks as well as analysing information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Participate in the set-up and commissioning of R&D and pilot-scale facilities starting from facility identification up to procurement and installation of equipment and instrumentations.
  • Capabilities to seamlessly work with cross-functional teams across the organization and third-party manufacturing location.
  • Support to Clinical Trials and RWE Studies for qualified products.
  • Collaborate with different teams internally on insights & idea generation activities
  • Business intelligence on competitive products and technologies.
  • Apprised with latest, pricing trends of materials & continuously come up with new product/cost optimization ideas, evaluate the ideas and prioritize on NPD feasibility.
  • Establish, Update & Maintain a network of knowledge resources to get an early advantage of innovation/technology.

Required Skills

  • Innovative product development knowledge and in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes and efficacy of nutrients in the product.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of the scientific basis for the creation of the label claim, recommended daily intake, and doses of the final product.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships and networks with culturally and technically diverse groups, are required.
  • Proficient in literature search, evaluation, and integration.
  • Capability of acquiring new knowledge and technology.
  • Good organizational skills & team player.

  • 2-3 years for master’s or 2-5 years for Bachelors (Post Qualification) in Nutrition/ Wellness or FMCG Industrial Environment.


  • B.Tech. /MTech. or M.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Food Science, Food Chemistry or Food Biotechnology.
